US Collects Over $200 Billion in Tariff Revenues in 2025
The United States has collected more than $200 billion in tariff revenues since the start of 2025, highlighting the growing role of tariffs in US trade policy.
According to an official statement from US Customs and Border Protection, the tariff revenues were generated between January 20 and December 15, following the implementation of more than 40 executive orders imposing new duties on a wide range of imports.
The agency clarified that these tariff revenues relate solely to newly imposed measures in 2025 and do not include tariffs introduced during former President Donald Trump’s first term, which have already been legally settled.
CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott said that strict enforcement of trade laws, combined with intelligence-led targeting, enhanced oversight, and rapid execution, has delivered tangible results in protecting the US economy and domestic industries.
The figures point to a renewed hardline trade approach in the United States, treating tariffs as a strategic tool for economic security, while raising ongoing legal and economic debates over their impact on supply chains, prices, and global trade stability.
